first Moonrise
second Shrouded in snow and starlight ...
third The fourth night of occult rites
Walking through the prison of my ego's already

few months ago, I had the German band rite their latest demo "From night thoughts" to come.
When I took the packet counter and opened it, I was particularly impressed by the elaborate packaging of the tape: see in a black paper envelope on which the logo is rite ... A very original idea, have to hand it to them!

Since the cover of the work looked very promising, I was full of anticipation and curiosity, what kind of musical art of music it may be, for this work.
I the tape loaded in the tape recorder and listened to the harsh tones of the group ...

The cry of a crow announce at the beginning of a dark and eerie world of the occult, which enters the listener through this work ...
is soon silenced the gekrähe, take possession of the profound melancholy soul of the listener - a soft and deplorable Gitarrengespiele provides tilting the mood straight into desolation.
my taste that this is in no way be negative ... it is rather a very thoughtful and magical atmosphere that is being laid on the day.

After the end of the intro "Moonrise," immerses the listener in an even much more pronounced melancholic atmosphere. The distorted electric guitar is accompanied by rapid drums, which therefore crackles at a rate such that it could be confused with a smooth anti-aircraft gun! Fortunately
is in this song but rather the dramatic melody in the foreground, rather than the monotonous bludgeoned the drums.
be the melodic guitar work accompanied by the painful Death of the singer screaming "spirit". Some very impressive parts, the occult preaching of the singer, however, underscored by a clean-singing, and that voice is expressed in the case rather than as a language in this song and sounds more like an ominous occurrence prayer. This song, "Wrapped in snow and starlight ..." is recommended by the way very much, for me personally it is the favorite on this record!

with a rather dull percussion sound to announce the third track on the demo. "The night of occult rites," is alone with the title again the fascination of the three Bavaria for occult and magic expressed.
testimony also included the text of the song of the occult thought.
Here is a passage that I like particularly well:
"anthem of the night,
anthem of the woods,
anthem of the moon,
song of the spirits,
the night occult rites"
Back to Sound:
brettert As usual, the drums Mabrugh meaning of mercy and leaves no chance to exercise more silence. Surprisingly, this book contains in comparison to the previous and rocking parts, but mainly to rule the dramatic melodies from the guitar. Other
is also very striking: the screams
of mind have in the 3rd Song (at least in some places) are more likely in a low and high screeching turns. Some parts are also underlined by rocking loud grunting and lush tortured voice, which merges into a kind of infernal laughter.
After the brilliant passage that has already been cited earlier, it ends on track already.

with thematically very well fitting, sheet-like ambient sounds, and something I would call a "drip noise," begins the last track on the tape ... "Walking through the dungeons of my I's.
Not only the title of this song is thought-provoking. The guitar sounds pathetic with more sluggish, tactful drums, this time to be accompanied in part by a hymenartigen Clean vocals and pull the listener away into a dreamy mental absence.
After a long captivity in this spell, all the instruments fall silent.
only a piano can be heard. Ghostly heard the strumming and the protagonist appears in the dungeons described downright mental anguish suffered by.
The emergence of the one part of the desperate cries and the other hand, the quiet, dark Krächzstimme is apparently a kind of schizophrenia symbolizes.
The end of the song just described is very scary and presents a likely Dialogue between the protagonist and his second "I". Finally, to compare
the musical nature of this demo on the whole: the music reminds me in part to Burzum, Gorgoroth and on some old plant.

In the end, I must say that I was convinced the work very much!
Apart from the musical talent of this band (for a demo more than clean) should be appreciated the occult themes of the demo "From night thinking" very. The music and lyrics by
excited mood generated (as has often stressed) to much to think about!
this demo tape I can definitely recommend, if you have the opportunity - get hold of a copy and look for upcoming releases of the band rite!
