The Swiss band Minhyriath comes from a relatively new genre of metal ...
course, it was many years ago, the metal bands are thematically in some songs or albums to the mighty epic "The Lord of the Rings and Tolkien-related books have (For example, Isengard, Burzum etc ...).
But for a short time it seems to be a wave of bands that infuse their music almost exclusively in this issue! Yes, one of this sub-genre could almost be described as "Tolkien metal" if it is not already the case ...
Whatever! Purely from the musical variety here, it is estimated that this means "Tolkien metal" bands "separate but mostly.
Minhyriath is very strongly oriented towards Folk Metal.
"Magic, medieval sounds caused by a mixture of folk and rock instruments and a deep voice, the more death metal reminiscent of ... "Thus one could define the musical content of this band!

Here I will but right now the new album "Gondolyn" more closely under the microscope ... I
For these ten tracks containing disc earlier this year by the Swiss label Black Tower Productions. In this case, therefore, also a thanks to the generous label is spelled out!
The cover of the CD "Gondolyn" shows a 3-dimensional designed landscape in the midst of a rune stone is visible. run on the edge of the CD curled lettering (Elvish characters when I'm not mistaken) ... so it is already in the design of the CD already know from which thematic area is Minhyriath.

Now I'm even more of "musical analysis" of the album ...
The intro begins with a shrill tone, which becomes a mixture of bagpipe tunes and dramatic drumming. The deep voice, which occurs almost preaching contributes much to the development of a mystical atmosphere!
has scarcely died away, the harmonic intro slow start even the first epic track "Shylob. It sounded like folk music Tones in a rather low speed, accompanied by the deep guitar, the rhythmic drums and the deep voice continued.
As a hymn rings out these titles and if he would not hurt a bit more variety, it still builds on a very "middle earth-worthy" sentiment!

"Ithilyen" is a very quiet and slow songs. The song is a thoroughly able to rely on nature-loving mood.
The internals of very folk-heavy percussion, flute and soft sounds, which support the usual instrumental to be exceptional in this song sometimes accompanied by a mystical whisper. At the sound of this quiet song, you may well come to dream ... of Elvish cities and magical nature, as Tolkien himself may have once dreamed of when he wrote his work ...

ultimately, I must say that I like the album is good, however, it is very mood dependent, ie: you can not always and everywhere ! Hear
A little variety would not hurt to the phonogram, but perhaps doing so in the following publications for something.

Some Lord of the Rings fans the calm folk metal over are not as inclined to be to bow to this band well! However, people were warned not to apply the two criteria ... for this album could easily lead to boredom!

Interview (English) - Runahild of Eliwagar

came some time ago I with Runahild, the military and charming beauty of Lorraine Folk project "Eliwagar" in contact.

After a couple of times I talked with the proud Germanic, came to my senses to load it to an interview under the banner of my magazine an ... She accepted my invitation and revealed to me in the following lines all about the French folk band (the only member of the way sie selber ist)!

Hail Wotan and hail Runahild!I must confess, I was really looking forward to doing this interview!

All Hail to you! it's a honour and pleasure for me as well to get this interview with you.

1) Paganland usually is into metal but there are some exceptions, of course. And one of these exceptions is your music. So here’s my first question: How would you describe your music? It’s actually some kind of medieval music or Neo Folk, isn’t it?

I myself describe my music as Traditional Pagan Folk Music. I do not like the term "Neo Folk", folk music is certainly the most ancient and most natural musical art since the dawn of time, and I don't see my way to play folk music today as a "new way". Folk music went through ages, and the way today it's played is just the continuity of the ancestral knowledge.

2) Did you previously record different music or did you play in other bands? If so, why didn’t it succeed? Are you part of other projects now?

Yes, I began to compose music first with an ambient project created in winter 2006 which was called Kriegerswald. I was also alone in this project and only played keyboards. I stopped it to begin with Eliwagar and to be entirely dedicated to it to compose folk music instead of ambient.I have founded lately the pagan metal project called Kriegerswald (I took back this name for it's deep meaning to me), and I play with 2 people from Iron Woods: Holykran and Guerriera Nox. I am very happy about the beginning of this new project and this collaboration with 2 very good people.

3) Is Eliwagar completely a one woman band? Or are there any other musicians to assist you?

Yes, Eliwagar is my very personal project and so is a one woman band at 100%. I do absolutely all music, lyrics and vocals for it.

4) Where do you get your musical inspiration from? Who are your heroes / role models?

I don't think I take direct inspiration from any other band.. however I might be influenced undirectly by the great art of Falkenbach, by the accoustic/folk album of Skyforger "Sword Song", by Krynitza and by such bands. But I don't think any of my influence can be heard in

my music today. What is a true and direct inspiration is Nature, my Ancestors, the Gods and Goddesses and the noble Values.I don't have any role model. There are of course people I respect for who they are, but I follow my own way and try to improve myself on my own way day after day.

5) To me, you seem to be THE only true pagan of the 21st century. Therefore, I have many questions for you, and I don’t even know where to start from…First of all: How did it begin? How did you become interested in paganism? Since when have you been fascinated by it?

I guess I am a pagan at heart, I am born pagan and I will die as a pagan. I have always been fascinated by nature, by legends and by what might be called the mysteries of the deep forest and of the spirits living there. I live since forever in a small village with the forest just behind my home, and while I was a child, I created lot of legends about it, and also already gave a great importance to the ravens, to the 4 elements and their magical meaning. But the notion of being pagan itself was revealed to me ever since I listenned to "Ok Nefna Tyswar Ty" by Falkenbach. This band was called "viking metal" and so did I decide to learn about the vikings. The first book I found about them was one about their mythology, and I just finished to read it entirely that I knew I belonged to this north folk, and that I knew the nordic beliefs was my heritage. This is something that immediately echoed in the deepest of my soul and heart, like a call from my true ancestors showing me my path and destiny. Since then, I knew the names of the ones to be hailed.

6) What does your family think of it? Do you have any relatives who are also pagan?

My family perfectly accept my beliefs and respect this, and I am thankful. But none of them are pagan...

7) You appear to take paganism very seriously.

Have you found many people who share your views, and who believe in the Æsir as well?

Not really, I think people confuse the fact of being interested into paganism, into ancient

folklore and mythology with being actually a pagan. So too many call themself pagan, but don't feel this spirit in their heart. and for them, Odhinn, Thor, Freyja and everything else are just names used for great legends without anything nor any deeper meaning behind. So I met lot of those "pagans" who actually were not. Of course, there are different ways to interpret paganism, to interpret the legends and to believe, there is not ONE paganism, not ONE way that we must follow in order to be true, this would make no sense. but there are some basics I would say, and the first one is to believe, not only to find some interest. But much people only find some interest and do not believe.

8) What do you think about the standing of women a) in the neo-pagan scene and b) in paganism in general? Glorious men who die in battle will go to Valhalla.

What about female warriors?

To be honest, I don't know much women into the pagan scene or into paganism in general. there are more men who are serious than women to my opinion. We can see lot of women wearing Thorshammer of course, but who will not look better than all the modern superficial women, caring more about their makeup, their hair and how they look like, some supposed pagan who would fear the true natural world. I have an ironic image of the superficial "pagan woman" who cry under the rain because her hair will be curly.. oh noooo, such a drama!! ahaha.. where the rain is sacred and nourrish the land, and is brought from the sky. To say, it's very hard for me to find other really interesting women in this scene. And I will take advantage of this question to denounce something that really begins to be bothering, this is this trend effect that any women in the metal genre who ever heard about the viking will call themself Valkyries. hum, ok, but Valkyries are warrior maiden which means they know how to fight, they also know the secret of the Runes, they are pure and noble. so, I would like all the nowadays sluts to stop using this name, because that's what most women I see are, some sluts who wear the shortest clothes ever, who would have sex with any men, and who above all would have NO idea how to handle a sword! they are a great dishonour to the true elite of the Valkyries.I don't mean here to talk bad about women, because there are certainly true and great pagan females. but in general, all I see the most is such pathetic individual. Women have a high place in our pagan community, the one to keep the traditions, the guardian of the family and the keeper of life and blood. it's quite a shame to see what women today became and that even women into the pagan movement aren't more worth than all the lost superficial ones..

To answer your second question: a woman who lived as a warrior maiden on Midgard will be chosen by Odhinn to become one Valkyrie in Walhalla. The legend of the creation of Valkyrie is such: once Odhinn saw on Midgard a proud woman rising and fighting with the same rage as men, she had the beauty and purity of women with the strength and courage and didn't fear the fight. When Odhinn saw this woman rising, he thought this was what men would wish for, at their death, to be welcomed by such a woman to lead them to the great halls of Walhalla.. when this woman died, she became the first Valkyrie. Valkyries were warrior maidens as well as Einherjar were brave warriors.

Do you know other girls and women to whom paganism means as much as it does to you?

As I mentioned above, they are really rare. I have only contact with few women who I think are true to what they say to be.

9) If I would suspect someone to practice rituals in earnest, then this one was you. Am I right?

Yes, I do indeed practise the old pagan rituals. mainly the ones of Yule, Midsummer, Ostara, the feast of the Einherjar and the night of Balder. For me, every pagan feast has a very important meaning, it's mainly the symbol of the death of a cycle for the birth of a new one.But I think that to understand the true meaning and importance of the pagan rituals, one have to imagine living in the old times far away from this modern society, where life was truly a natural life, where all the folk depended on nature and on the cummunity to survive. Pagan rituals were not some barbarian practises and inhuman sacrifices dedicated to the strength of chaos and evil. Sacrifices were done like an exchange of energy, and like an exchange of gift. For instance, to thanks our mother earth for the food she gave them into the field, into the trees, into the forest, this food so sacred that allowed them to survive, the folk offered a part of their harvest back to the earth and so to the specific Gods and Goddesses they wanted to honour. By offering a part of their food, they transmit their gratitude and their energy, they honoured and hailed. And this is the same meaning for animal sacrifices. For instance at Yule, most of the time, it was a wildboar that was sacrificed, because Yule was the feast dedicated to the fertility, and it was dedicated to Frey and Freyja, and they were linked to the wildboar. So a wildboar was hunt and killed, and then shared with Frey and Freyja as an exchange. A part of the animal was given to the Gods, and in return Frey and Freyja would ride for 12 days the earth to make the soil fertile for the new year to come.Also, it has to be understood that human didn't feel inferior nor superior to the natural order. so their sacrifices were not done to calm or appease the Gods and Goddesses, but really as an exchange. In the nordic culture, there is this saying "a gift calls a gift" and it simply means gift are what keep friendship, relationship and alliance. Our pagan ancestors knew they were one with the natural world, they knew they were a part of the world and to live in harmony with it there was this exchange of gift.

Today, this notion of being a part of nature is lost into modernism.. people forgot this eternal link with mother earth, where they belong! but only by living in harmony with nature and with the natural laws could they find glory, wealth and happiness!

10) What does your daily life look like? Do you live in the countryside?

Yes, I live in the countryside, in a very beautiful and isolated place surrounded by forests. Until now, I have dedicated a great part of my life for music, for nature and for reflection. Now, I am thinking about learning how to farm to later have my own farm where to live with my family and with some friends near. I am fascinated by the life in autarcy, the life like the old ways in the middle of nature which also would be healthier. I don't trust in the modern world and in the modern system, one day or an other it will fail, so we have to be independant from it, and survive out of it. I really dream to live in a little pagan village, growing our own food, raising our animals and such, yet to stay connected to the world of today to keep in touch with what is going on, and continue to make our art to try to awake other of our folk.

11) Judging from your pictures and your music, nature must mean very much to you…fair enough! Could you imagine to live in a dirty city full of fumes, like me? (Not that I could choose, hehe)

clearly, no I could not, I guess I would escape to the nearest forest after few hours.. ahah.. but you have my thought with you for bearing such a life and standing strong! one day it might change.

12) Could you imagine to live in other countries? If so, which ones would that be?

yes, I could live in any germanic country (Germany, Austria, Norway, Danemark...etc). but I already live in a great one, here in Lothringen. the only problem is that the traditions and culture have been mostly erased since it belongs to France. Just near Lothringen is the region called Elsass, it's also a germanic land taken by the french, but there the germanic traditions are still very important and alive compared to here.I am not against France, I just think that it's important to keep alive the traditions of our own ancestry, and not to take the one of other folk. My roots are germanic, so I want to keep the germanic traditions, as I would encourage all celtic people to keep alive their celtic traditions and so with the slavonic ones and any other folk.

Have you already visited other countries, like Germany or Scandinavia, for example?

Sadly, I haven't visited Scandinavia yet.. but I am wishing for that.. I don't have the occasion

to travel for now, so I only went once in Switzerland, but I need to visit sometimes Austria, Norway, Iceland... and such great germanic country...

13) I heard that every now and then you live away from the civilized world to spend a few days in the woods.A beautiful warrior maiden sitting by the camp fire in the forest. That’s rather the most romantic thing I can imagine! Is this really true? Are you alone when you “take a time-out in nature”? And do you get any

inspiration for your lyrics and your music from nature when out there?

Of course that is true, there is nothing better I can think of!! There is in my forest called Kriegerswald a little cabin called Kriegersheim (mainly built by myself and then with the help of Vargor) where there is a place for the fire and a place where to sleep. I already spent some nights there since it has been built, as well as I did some feast and also even I made some cooking. I really spent some of the most wonderful time of my life there.. Sometimes I go with people, sometimes alone, it depends. And I surely take most of my inspiration for my lyrics in the forest and from my journey there.

14) Do you also fight with swords or do you ride a horse and other things a true German should be able to do? (Of course, a neo-pagan doesn’t necessarily have to do these things, but I think, you are capable of doing them. That’s why I ask)

Sword fight... YES! as I say, I don't only hold a sword for epic pictures, I really love to practise sword fighting since now years and years.. but the problem is to find interested people who want their steel to meet mine.. I also love to learn to use a bow, which could be useful for hunt even. And as for riding a horse, I used to while I was a child, but it's been a long time I haven't been able to ride..

15) You seem to have many different Germanic clothes. Do you spend a lot of money for these dresses and accessories?

I actually do myself all the germanic/viking clothes. so all that it cost me is to buy the material itself and it is not very expensive. It has always been important to me to do everything by

myself, and not just to buy from a shop. so I wanted to make my own chain mail, my own dresses, my own shield.. the only thing I could not do myself for now are my swords and helmet, I still need to learn blacksmithing for that.. hehe.. now to get a very good sword that resist the fight training, you need to count around 150-250 euros.

16) Are you in touch with other bands (maybe even from other musical genres)? Are there also some outside France, or are they mainly outside France?

Since I started Eliwagar, and even before, I began to get contact with other pagan bands mostly into the metal musical genre more than into the folk one, it's quite rare to find pure folk project involved into paganism at the same time. But most bands aren't from France, I can't think of many great bands from France anyway. And as I say, I don't consider Eliwagar as a french project either, I am from Lothringen, a region wrongly seen as french, but which actually have the germanic roots..

17) Do you support any labels, organizations and such?

I support any labels, organisations, bands, Fanzines and anything else that is there to defend our european pagan heritage, that is there for the survival of our folk and true traditions! United we all must be to get victory!!

18) Obviously, there was an outrage because of your predilection for Nordic-Germanic paganism. You already have disassociated yourself from political messages in your music on your MySpace profile. But in this interview you have another opportunity to make it plain once and for all!

Officialy (as you have seen), Eliwagar is not linked to any political ideas and it's better to just remember this... only my friends and close relative know..

19) What is actually the reason why you are a musician? Is it to express yourself, an ode to the Æsir or anything else?

The very first reason why I wanted to play music (it was years ago) was to express my pride and my love for my pagan heritage, for my land (mainly Lothringen nature) and my ancient folk. Those things are going to disappear if no one stand to defend them.. nature is being destroyed, our folk is being killed, and our heritage is more and more fading into the darkness of the past.. hopefully even in those time, some people are rising, and mainly with their art, they hail what must not be erased and this way, they keep alive what is dear to them! Like them, my aim with Eliwagar is to fight to preserve what must be glorious!As long as there are people to sing in honour of dead heroes, then heroes are immortal! As long as there are people spreading the widsom of Wotan, then the Wotan spirit is immortal! As long as there are people to keep alive the traditions, then the traditions are immortal!! So, let's sing and let's play music to the glory of what is honourable, to the glory of our heritage, our motherland and our folk to show that we aren't dead, that we still stand and we are still strong and proud!!The ancient Gods and Goddesses aren't dead and so is not our folk yet! And their voices is still present through our music and art!! So we still have a reason to fight...

20) What happens with Eliwagar in the future, only the Norns will know, hehe! But what do you have in store?

For now, all I am hoping is to get my latest album released.. I also keep in mind to make concert in the future, but this will probably not happen before quite a long time.. Something else…

21) Which Rune of the Futhark can you relate to the most?

Every Runes of the Futhark have a particular importance to me and in my life.. however I feel a very strong connection with the rune Berkana. This rune is linked to Frigg and represent the maternity, and by that, it represent the woman who give birth and transmit the heritage and the blood to keep the folk surviving. Berkana is the rune for the women who keep alive the traditions and transmit them to their children. This is also the rune for the smallest light in the deepest darkness.. such as the birch bark, the shinnier in the deep forest at night.. it represent this light that never fade, even in the deepest darkness.. Berkana is there to guide..

22) Before saying goodbye, I have one last question… It may sound cheesy but I would like to ask you because I’m interested to hear what a woman like you will answer!

If 3 wishes were granted to you, what would they be?

ahah, interesting question I must say! I will sum up with those 3 runes: Tiwaz (glory, justice and equilibrium), Wunjo (happiness, wealth, food, health, harmony) and Fehu (fertility)... may those 3 runes bless our folk and our motherland.. this would be my 3 wishes.. because we need victory and justice to be done to reconquer and once again rule in our ancestral lands, we need to live in harmony with the people of our own folk and with our mother nature with enough food, enough wealth and good health and finally we need fertility for the soil and for the folk, so never our folk dies.. and always there is children to take the place of the dead ones..

During the long existence, were published as a few sound recordings that brought them outside their home country's huge popularity.
Recently I had the opportunity to perform with the guitarist, who is also one of the band's founder, a detailed interview about the band's history and the future plans of the Greek demons ...

I'm pleased to greet you to this interview, it took a long time to get to it, because I had other stuff to do, but now the time came to present to the Austrian Enshadowed Primarily readers.
Hails! It's an honor to talk with you! Enshadowed is an active black/death metal band the last 10 years. It’s easy to understand that we don’t follow the sound of Greek black metal scene and this is important for us.

1) Let’s start with the biography…

Who from you formed Enshadowed and how did the band develop from your point of view?
Enshadowed was born in 1998. In the first years we released 1 promo and 3 demos. The original line up was performed from Impaler, my blood brother Lord Acheron and me. The members changed many times in these 10 years. I was the only member who remains. I never think to stop the activity of the band. So, at 2002 we released our debut “Messengers of the Darkest Dawn” and after one year the “Intensity” full length album. The line up changed again and Impaler is back! The next step was to release some underground tapes and give some live shows. Finally, before 1 year we are back with the “6.6.6” split and “The Art ov Blasphemies” split EP with Mantak (Malaysia).

2) Your last release lasts back for 1 year... When will be your next record released and what will it be? A full-length album, another split or a single?

As I told you, before one year we release a split full length album with the American cult black metal band Thornspawn. Entitled “6 black candles, 6 rotting hearts, 6 sacrifices for Satan”. 10 tracks - 5 tracks each band. It was released by Zyklon-B Productions in Cd and Digi Cd version. I hope soon to have the vinyl version in my hands. This period we are in studio for recordings. The next release it will a split release with the bands of “SECTA NOVA”. After this, we plan a split 7” inch vinyl release with Vulturine from Brazil.

Will there be any stylistic differences?

You must listen to understand. In every new release we change things in our sound. We try to be more extreme in many ways.

3) You seem to like Death Metal privately.. Maybe more than Black Metal?
What does it go about in music from your opinion?

Hmm… yes! But Enshadowed has Black Metal ideology. The sound of the band is a mix of Black and Death metal. Some times more close to black and sometimes to death.

4) Did your musically interests develop during the band-history or do you like the same bands you listened to your founding-phase?

Look, I am a musician; I don’t feel just only a “Black metal guitarist”. So, I see the things from a different point of view than a classic fan of Black metalhead. I listen to many different bands and many kinds of music. But this is just a personal enjoyment and nothing that can change anything in the band.

5) You seem to have a strong brachial kind of playing… Which bands would you say inspired your music?

We spend many time before creating each new song, it’s a kind of ritual for me. Well my favorite bands are Slayer and Morbid Angel but I can’t say that we have influences from these amazing bands. Just only the same diabolical spirit… Maybe you can say that we are in the same satanic circle with bands like Behemoth, Cadaver, Aeternus etc…

6) What do you think about Satanism? I would say that Enshadowed is a pretty blaspheme and misanthropic Black Metal band. Would you call yourself a Satanist, or do you have nothing in common with this body of thought?

If you believe that Satan is the symbol behind the free spirit of human and the open minds, then yeah I am a Satanist. I believe in nothing, I believe that only flesh and death are real, I believe in myself and that’s enough. I accept the existence of chaotic energy of nature but I don’t explain this with the existence of God or Satan as the Christians do.

7) Beneath enshadowed, you also play in other bands, for example Burial Hordes. Have you ever thought about leaving a side-band to concentrate more on your main-band?

Yeah, I create Burial Hordes before 6 years. It’s main band too. In same periods of my life I have the inspiration to create music for more than one style. So, this is the reason that I am the music maker behind Merciless Crucifixion and Vomit Church and Burial Hordes too…

8) Have there be any critical band internal conflicts, or do you get well on with each other?

We are humans and humans are shit! So, it’s normal to don’t agree in everything! The important is to find the best solution for every problem.

9) Do you play many gigs in your homeland?

We played many times with bands like Impaled Nazarene, Dark Funeral and many more. Now, we gonna give a live holocaust with Belphegor at the end of December.

10) What do you think about the Greek metal-scene? Do you think that NS- Black Metal in Greece is really that dominant, like it looks for outstanding people? What is your opinion to that development?

Hellenic scene has many bands in every kind of metal music but sure a big number with black metal bands. 99% of the black metal bands are shits. Childs who try to prove that can be extreme without real spirit and knowledge of how to create music. Greek Death metal scene is better. Inveracity, Vulnus & Sickening Horror are great examples! NS? What is this? Sorry, I don’t care about human weakness …

11) How does it look like with the reputation and degree of popularity of your band in Greece? Are your concerts well-visited and does the audience make some action at your gigs?

Well, Greek fans are strange. But, I can say that the biggest number of fans knows us and likes our horde.

12) Do you also travel to other countries? Do you also played outside of Europe (beyond Europe) or do you ever thought about that?

Before some years we played at Sophia of Bulgaria. We are interested to give live shows worldwide but it isn’t the most important thing for us. To play out of our country needs much money to spend. Some bands here spend a little time to create music and spend much time in fucking “MySpace” to suck “friends” and promoters. The stupid thing is that the metalheads approve the bad music as “cult” and accept the popularity which a shit band can create from internet.

13) Did you ever play in Austria? If not, I’m pretty sure, some of the Austrian black metalers would really enjoy your blaspheme sound.

This is fantastic! I hope to play one day in your land and bring a real holocaust!

14) What exactly are the reasons from your point of view that you make music/What are the reasons for the existence of enshadowed/what do you want to express with enshadowed?

Enshadowed is all my life. I don’t believe that is an extreme metal band only. The band one day will stop but the spirit of this energy will stay after death in this fucking planet.

15) Are you happy with your Image?
You talk about corpse paint? Well, corpse paint is not necessary to play black metal. We choose it to be a part of our image because it’s a good way to show the inside part of our personalities… The bad thing is that nowadays many bands make this theatric art to be ridiculous. I am happy that we are not one of them.

long time I listen to the harsh sounds of the German Black Metal Total Hate . Highly recommended is any previous publication, Her latest work is the way in February of this year ... appeared

1) Could you maybe tell a little at the beginning of the current situation in the band? For all I know is, Total Hate must now be on hold for a while ... what exactly are the causes of and when will you get the audience back to face?

Well, our Situation looks right now like this that we back a few weeks, the drum tracks for our 2nd Album has been added, as long us our drummer is not available. In the coming weeks, the stringed instruments and the vocal tracks are recorded. Agonia Records will release this album and what happens next will be seen. On ice Total Hate yes first time only in terms of shows down just stays as our drummer for a while in Oslo. Also this week plans to run for a few shows / festivals, because we want to play in 2009 increased slightly Live.

2) Your plans so soon a split with a Norwegian band publish, especially "Stillhet" ... This band is indeed from Løten (in Norway). Should we assume that you have wide contacts? At what other bands have you otherwise have good contacts? Splits are even more in the pipeline?

Well, I already have some contacts in Norway. Some contacts are regular, some are limited to the swapping of CDs / LPs. Bands which are said to include, for example Stillhet, Urgehal, Endezzma, anxiety Skvadron, Elite, Throne of Katarsis a few others in Norway and of course worldwide. Further splits are not yet scheduled, but did not rule for the future.

3) How does it with your label Agonia Records? From them I have so generously given, the promotion of your new CD. The label is reliable, or were there a couple of disputes?

By and large, it is already satisfactory. You always hear how it is with other bands on their label and as I said, it fits this far. It was disappointing that the split with Agonia Stillhet publish and did not want that to date still not the LP version of Planet Earth Depopulating is published, but the way things are sometimes in the Underground.

4) Since its foundation, it took so many years before it to your first "real" Album came out. What were the reasons? First you wanted to expand because of your other publications well known in your background a bit, or you wanted to you for the first album a little time, so it can be recorded properly?

I am of the opinion that a band should grow for now. Of experience, playing ability and so on. We were initially due to the Seeds of Hate old times, also leveled an offer for an album, but I was going to take a demo and see how everything is designed and I do not regret that decision.

6) You are all so involved in several other projects ... do you want to give more precise information about?

It's no big secret that everyone of us have other bands / projects, works as our guitarist is about to launch a solo project, Aer is yes, inter alia Wolfthorn, majesty and other involved Winterheart plays including at Nyktalgia and dying, and I find Seeds of Hate previously played bass Deathronation and now will live a while with Wolfthorn help out on bass. 2009, I will, however, stop all other activities and will focus only on Total Hate.

7) How often do you actually do decide to meet for rehearsals, finally, you seem concerned by the side projects to be ...

rehearsals are for Total Hate do not care and not simply because our drummer lives so usually more than 400 miles away. I work with capable musicians each of which has its mission, and performs perfectly. Once pending CD recordings or concerts, we meet a few days earlier, the play set a few times through and then we are fit.

8) Total Hate ... as the name indicates (in German "Total Hate"), it is a misanthropic black metal band. Would you actually as "all haters" and called misanthropes? How exactly would you define it, there are no people that will mean something?

misanthropy means an objection / contempt for all humanity and in my view, this attitude is limited to people outside the circles in which I am staying. I noticed at some point that I have little in common with humanity and wants to have even the slightest to do with it. It could also quite simply this way: I care a damn humanity. Wind mankind has sown over me enough, now they reap the storm. I do not live or only as part of society. I am acting like an observer of the species with which I have completed a long time. This refers indeed reflected the current metal scene and most of their fans!

misanthropes are very selfish people, what I really think in general for any negative trait ... but as soon as the selfish one meets the other, the situation can easily come into the tilt. Are you by your attitude often involved in arguments?

It's actually quite simple. The people trusted me I am anything but a selfish and people do not know me, I prefer to let my silence. I usually people go out of the way, so I'm rarely involved in arguments.

9) And what about Band Intern from? Was there also times greater differences?

I do not know (extreme) metal band in which it is not from time to time differences are. In many a band more in some less, so I'm at Total Hate to a fashionable from the very beginning, what I intended to do with the band and the other hole I only musician in the band that I know are either closer to or from my friends and trust that I can.

10) Satan is playing like it should be in the true black metal yes, and a role in your music ... what exactly? She also practiced satanic rituals, or would you rather see as the image? What is your view of Satanism?

No, we practice at least no common rituals. From Satanism has probably everyone in the band's own view. I do not believe this "Teen Satanism", where graves vandalized and chickens are slaughtered, I think I speak for all of us. I'm not a preacher and I'm not in front of other people to convince them of my faith. To me, Satanism is definitely not an image! Suffice it to say, Satanism is for me a kind of energy source that surrounds me constantly, it is something very personal, but what I am talking to no one, also because I'm not interested other opinions on this subject at all. I have taken several years ago, my way I still am and will continue to go without compromise.

What about your attitude to other faiths? Are there any with which you can also identify you, or do you have to do with anything?

the No's are not, and I want to do with other faiths have nothing. I reject all other faiths for me!

11) You founded the band, would you describe yourself as a leader of the troupe? Dance by one of your pipe, or is Total Hate to become a joint project?

In a sense I'm probably the head, since I founded the band, main songwriter, am answering all the interviews and take care of all organizational. The others do not need to dance to my tune, because we are actually quite an opinion when it comes to most things, and when we disagree, we talk about it. This makes Total Hate then turn to a common project or a band.

12) What were the reasons for it, would Total Hate cease to exist one day? Your death? Total
Would Hate to your death no longer exists, or would you agree to pursue the other members of the band?

would at this stage say that Total Hate definitely after my death would not exist anymore. How would it look in a few years, I can not say. But I would not mind if the other, the band would continue worthy. Another possible end would be for me for a long period of time, lack the inspiration or I'm just saturated.

13) I guess an extent that its commercial bands could not suffer well, if not hated ... or bands, which are aimed to the highest level of awareness to achieve and no interest in the true background of the Black Metal more have.
It is concluded that before you did not particularly known to be right? What do you want with Total Hate achieve anything ... is it only the music and express your thoughts about, or has even more profound reasons Total Hate?

Nowadays it is simply that you make from the Black Metal anyway not hardly can live up to, so I have to earn in any way with any band so far even begin to consider getting money. My goal was first and foremost always my vision to express my views and to achieve. I wanted to play the kind of Black Metal, which for me was always Black Metal. Whether we will or not known to me, ultimately, completely equal, we prefer our thing through with Total Hate as usual, without considering the interests of a so-called scene. We do what we want and not what others want or expect to hear!

14) How the impressions of your recent live performances were so? The rooms were filled with strong?

The impressions were mostly ok as far as the audience. The best performance was far from my point of view, which in December 2007. The first of the new line up. At Total Hate appearances have been represented from 30-300 people have all sorts of public figures. It all depends on whether it is a festival or a concert. Is it during the week, there is a Weekend. There are many factors as to recoup. Live shows are something very special for me. The feelings can be ill during a show to describe. It is as if a demon has taken possession of me and I at the moment his "tool" bin. There are feelings of obsession, rage, anger, aggression, hate flow through me. There is hardly anything emotionally gripping Deres for me to play with Total Hate as a concert.

15) Which countries have you already played and which countries you intend to travel to? What about Austria?

So far we have seen, unfortunately, only in Germany, Poland and Holland. I hope of course that we'll soon be playing in Austria, as I did back then with Seeds of Hate already done. My personal dream would, of course, due to play through my sources of inspiration and influence, in Norway and Sweden. Otherwise, I'm open to all countries and continents. South America would be as interesting.

16) The future ... you never know what it will bring. You have another album in any event planning or according to your myspace page already in labor! Could you give more information about this album here?

There is much about it yet to report, we have already mentioned how the drum tracks recorded and will make us soon to the rest. The album will contain 7 songs, including one song a cover version of an earlier Swedish Black Metal Band will be to no longer exists. The playing time will be approximately between 35 and 40 minutes.

Why have you actually changed your logo? The old logo looked much better in my opinion ... I've ever needed to raise one of your demo-shirt could see the still the old logo was!

So the first logo I've designed myself back then and how it's always like that, after a certain time, I can not see my logo and everything I've just asked again Szpajdel Christophe, who had also designed the Seeds of Hate logo. Personally, I like our new logo better because it just looks more aggressive.

In "Proclama" is the 2nd Full-length publication of the Italian black metal horde Adversam.
was several months ago, I received a promo version of this dark horse (to support what I am always happy) from the growing Horrizon Label Bloodred Records. After the first publication
Adversam "Animadverte" it should have almost 10 years , Take before the second album saw the light of the world ... In May 2008, is now "Proclama" thanks Bloodred Horizon entered the market and available for the audience!

Regarding the music, I must say that I expected due to the keyboards and some female line rather cheesy melodic black metal ... much more likely to use the Italian occult esoteric but racy elements, both riffs and drum deposits are then smashed very quickly. But there would be for me even the first critical point:
The melodies are oversubscribed or be swallowed by the hysterical drums. Its not often you find some parts hanging in the ear . Remain
Another criticism of this disc would be above all the opera-like clean vocals which one sometimes hears in the background and in my opinion, considering the fast music is not really appropriate.

with another similar-sounding album, I can Proclama not compare, however, since I generally do not great friend of this type of Black Metal and I am therefore also deal with any such publications.

Every faithful Gentiles Metal Skyforger should have heard of at least some, if not attended concerts or the discography at home!

This time I have to reviewn the task an absolute cult album of the Celtic Pagan Metal, which has inspired many younger bands to their sound art.
are talking about the legendary Skyforger demo "Semigalls' Warchant" (first published in 1997) and the re-release by torture Records (published in 2005).

As is said it is this CD a truly formative work for the Celtic and Slavic Pagan Metal scene. Especially in Russian, Polish and Slovak room in the genre, one often observes the influence of "Semigalls' Warchant" and other parallels to this type of game.

part of this record sound lovely, nature-loving melodies with medieval influence. Birdsong, nature sounds, gentle flute melodies and rhythmic drums heard, one for example, in the first title of the work: "Sunrise Over The Sacred Forest."
Following this introduction, also makes the metal influence noticeable!
"Werewolves," the second track on the CD creates a really dark mood. Hard distorted guitars, a high singing of a mixture of raucous screams and grunts like and again, the audible sounds of nature like the howl of a wolf.
The speed of the drum kit fits most strongly to the guitar and increases with some places enormous. Good work of the drummer in any case, who complain they can not!

Similar to "Werewolves," the rough riffs and rapid drums also work in other titles such as "Signs Carved in Stone" (which comes across much darker).
The dark rock instrumental on the disc is often brightened by acoustic parts and also with those of typical Skyforger style is in evidence, which is in the later works gets to hear so often. My favorite is definitely

The cover artwork to be judging, I was expecting my first really no lovely melodies, but rather hard and brutal sized pealing. To my surprise, I was ordered to determine, however, I was wrong ...
First impressions: The intro sounds not aggressive, or voltage generators, it resembles much more melodic medieval Klanggut.

So beautiful and almost "happy" may sound even this introduction, I was relieved to be honest, when I was the harsh sounds of the 2nd Tracks on coming!
Aside from the raw guitar sound that is initially held still in the mid-paced and increasingly increases coming (especially with the epic riffs) and the audible voice to the fore!
The emotional outcry that the singer will probably steal the last vocal cords, also fits well with the songs in the following crude but melancholic Playmate of the electric guitar.
also especially like the slow, almost depressive beginning of the song "Hammer Against the Crosses", which flows over the course of the song in melodic guitar sounds.
As the title suggests, is at the very classic song about the war against the pagans to Christianity. If the text is resourceful now or not is debatable, though, but much more lush themes Pagan Metal excludes yes.

The following titles in the silver disc, the same concept of the other songs.
In so many places, but can be found a little catchy factor, such as the sonorous setting, just before the half the last track "as one with the woods"!
An acoustic part may be missing out on a standard Black Metal album of course not, we find such a course on "Desolated Battlefields".

ultimately, I can only say: This CD is it more of an average Pagan Metal work, which really does not force a sale, but at a reasonable cost is worth hearing!
For friends of clean singing in the Black Metal is, at least - away> hands!

"Helvetica Diabolica" is the third full-length album, which the Swiss black metal band Black Jade (which now consists only of a person) within 8 years of existence (this time again about Black Tower Productions has published).

My Favorites to "Helvetica Diabolica" is mainly the title of "snow" (because of the background music, which I was a catchy tune and because of the nasty vocals), and "Hail Dominica Helvezia "(because of the heroic Gitarrengespiele in the middle / the chorus).

Ourto home and on the CD, that is the title of "Anno 1811" and "Anno 1961" drown out the way most anthemic! What else "1961 Anno" on it should be said: this song does not last reason for 17 minutes ... after the hymn has died away and a break has passed, the listener Swiss Alps, people come to your ears! In 2006, this Salzburg Hate Rock band from the earth of the ground increased. Stylistically, this band

we come to the second song on the tape, which bears the name of the demo (the Steel Beast ").

In 2007 the CD "schemes" of the German Black Metal Band "Todtgelichter" in torture Records (which I am also grateful for the very Promo) appeared.
Unfortunately, it took a while until I had enough time to devote myself to this CD here, but now that I was ready for a smaller break me to the work to heart follows, of course, the Review.

Well ... At first I was a little shocked when I realized that the first track "Impulse" accompanied by female vocals ... I'm not really a fan of female vocals in black metal. With relief, I found, however, that this song is obviously intended only as an introduction and the other songs are not accompanied with female vocals!

The first song sounds especially by the Gitarrengeklimpere very atmospheric and is a prelude to such an album entirely successful.
The rhythm keeps on this track is still very slow, but the disaster is coming ...

... the second track! - It gets serious!
The hard drum hits initiate the song. The rather slow
sounds that are accompanied with a disdainful and ferocious vocals are just the beginning! The pace increases in some places and the (initially) monotonous tones, accompanied by a high-pitched guitar melody!
the melodies stand out much and provide a sense of melancholy at its best! Also quieter parts containing that song.

"blessing", the 3rd Song on the CD begins with (for Black Metal) very unusual sounds ... major depressive guitar melodies, is quite clearly a didgeridoo (a traditional wind instrument of Australian Aborigines) to hear!
This may sound daunting ... but personally I must say that this baffles surprisingly good match for the rest of the instrumental!
This unusual instrument occurs, the whole song even more varied in appearance. The other instruments can be heard, even the bass is audible in later put to use.

Sonically the album reminds a little of old Gorgoroth works, however, these are the other part is a so unique style that you can not put 100% into a drawer! Todtgelichter have appeared in this work much effort and emotion put what you can also hear the sound. As mentioned above, "schemes" is also supported by unusual instruments that are not normally used in black metal. The sounds are generally melancholic and depressed, and the linguistic components (eg in the song "Blood Star", where fixtures can be heard from the movie Matrix), support this sentiment and its effects.
The depressive guitar riffs could increase, however, extremely complex melodies and be converted into acoustic sounds!

is all in all it is "schemes" is a very melancholy work that brings a very thoughtful ... to the band with this CD something special brought to light, which is rarely found in today's times.

1) You are one of the two guys who founded the band Blodsrit so what was the impetus to launch this horde and what was the reason for Kettil's leave?

At that point of time where Blodsrit was born (or rather "Skuggrike" which was the name given to the band initially) I was involved in a few bands, namely: Primitive Symhpony, Wrath & Demonized. For some reasons I moved and I was from that moment not able to rehearse or create with any of the aforementioned bands. The creative hunger grew inside and the outcome was the need of a new band, hence Skuggrike. Kettil was a guy I met during this time who shared the ideals and views upon life that I had, so we kind of teamed up and recorded a demo entitled "The arrival of Kaos". This recording was anyhow never released in any official way and when I decided to move back to where I left from we went separate ways. My direction was later to be known as Blodsrit whilst Kettil's (aka Rogga) path led to the formation of Paganizer, Ribspreader and some other projects. We have been speaking loosely about a reunion. The plan in that case is just a 7" vinyl or something like that. A recording session is anyhow planned in the nearest future and we´ll see what it will turn ot like.

2) Where do you get the name „Blodsrit" from and can you tell us the meaning please?

The name Blodsrit would easiest be translated as "blood ritual" in English. It is just a name that has been taken from an old heathen tradition where blood was sacrificed in a ritualistic way in order to get your wishes come true. In a way you might say that Blodsrit is my blooddrenched ritualistic gift to the elder gods.

3) In the early years of Blodsrit you had some trouble with "Oaken Shields" which was your label at that time. What was the problem in detail?

Well, the problems we have encountered labelwise was not really in the beginning but instead more recently during these days. What I can say is that the issues we have with the particular label is still an infected wound, so at the moment I will (for certain reasons) say no more until things have been sorted out.

4) You produced the video to „The glorious rise of flames" recently. It is about a ritual or somthing in that way (I hope I understood it the right way!), so can you tell us the plot of this video and your thoughts behind it?

Aye, we got a proposition from some french guy while we were on tour, and he asked us if it was ok if he did a video for us. We said ok, and gave him a few guidelines of what we had in mind but still we gave him a huge artistic freedom to do what he wanted in order to visualize "The glorious rise of flames". We wanted complete nudity and ritual murder in the video (hey, we were young and it was our first video), but it didn´t really turn out like that as you might know. The song is all about the wish to experience the downfall of the earth. To see the end of days and to be able to stand at a high point with a great view of the world and a horizon that burns red as the whole world perish in flames. Imagine the greatness in being one of the last standing humans and witness the earths last dying breath. So the video in a way portrais a person with these wishes that somehow realizes that the day of a dying world is too far away for her to experience and by that she has lost all meaning in life and decides to end the gift of God called life by her own hands. At least that is my personal view upon the video.

5) About what kind of mindset do you preach in your songs? Did the mindset changed in the course of time?

As time pass by you change and grow for every event and turn that life surprises you with for obvious reasons. I would say that in the beginning we had more of a pure antichristian approach to our content, whilst we today have turned into more personal feelings and views nested into what we create. I would definately say that we have matured and everything has alot more meaning now than before.

6) Like you know anyway there exist various types of satanism…To which type do you confess to? Or aren’t you a satanist at all?

I am not really a person that labels myself as this or that. I have my views and ideas upon all various types of directions in life, and maybe someone would say that I am a Satanist, some would claim otherwise. I would say that I am a misanthrope by heart and that is the only thing I confess myself to. I am en extremist and my thoughts are many times not really seen as healthy by the general population, but that is nothing that bothers me really. We are from the day we are born fed with the lie that all humans has the same value while I say that man are born without any value at all. You are worth only what you build. For example I of course have people that means something for me, but that value has taken years to build. And if you view it globally the persons that means something to me means nothing to 99,99999% of the rest of the world, so the conclusion must be that humans are pretty worthless. When you die you are mourned by a few for a while and eventually you are completely forgotten.

In which way does your faith influence your social environment?

To be honest I have never even thought about in what ways my thinking disables me socially. I live my life in a way that pleases me and care not at all of what others do or think about it actually.

7) In Salzburg I saw that you really like tattoos, hehe. So what do your tattoos mean? Do they have a special meaning to you or are they part of a story? Explain them a little bit for our readers!

Every tattoo has a meaning behind it or at least they represent parts of my life where this or that happened. I can look back at my first tattoos and think that if I were to start over again I would have chosen other motives, but I do not regret any of them since they in a way tell a story of the person I was back then and forward. And by saying that they all have a meaning I am definately not at all near the pathetic beings presented in for example L.A Ink and such shows. I try to combine nice art that represents myself and what I do and stand for.
Also, I work part time as a tattoo-artist, and creating something permanent while using human skin as canvas is possibly the ultimate artform one can find.

8) Are their any bands who are role models to you? You had covered Candlemass and Darthrone, would you count among them as role models?

What we create has lots of different sources of inspiration, but I wouldn’t really say that this or that band serves as role models for what we create. Regarding the covers, we did "Transilvanian Hunger" to fill out the promo since we didn´t have so many new songs at the recording occasion, and the recording was mostly a way for me to see how well me and Fiebig worked together and the cover is very near the original in its recorded form. "Solitude" on the other hand is a song we changed a lot from the original. We took it from slow doom to black metal in a way that at least I see as very much better than the original.

Did they give you direction to music or just to personality?

As mentioned above we have a huge number of inspirational sources, so it is impossible to say that they have done this or that particular thing that in a way and changed and made us what we think or do or are today, and I can´t say that I consider any of the aforementioned bands as something that solely has made me what I am today. I do have a lot of respect for them and what they do anyway.

9) Are there any other bands which do you like personally? Are you in contact with some other bands regularly?

No, we have no intention of making "friends" with what we do whatsoever. We prefer to keep to ourselves and we have no contact on a regular basis with any other bands to this date. We have met some people during the years that we have some shallow contact with but I would say that they are very few and it has never been because of the fact that they are involved in any band that we have stayed in touch with those people.

10) Is there something you hate especially in the society nowadays?

Honestly I believe that I could write a book around this question. Life has made some twisted turns and there are multiple (or millions to be more precise) things that has awakened rage within my being. There are a huge spectra of answers that could be used to answer this. Society is filled with humans, one more the disgusting than the other and human behaviour seems to never stop amazing me with its stupidity. Also we have politics and religion that has built the society and moral grounds on which we have based our lives of today. The list is endless and thus makes the question blurry and hard to answer when it is not specified.

11) You’d playd your first tour quite early… how was it? And in general: How was your first gig ever?

We were given the chance to go on tour throughout France and combine that whilst we were down there to record "Ocularis Infernum", and it was a good experience. At the time we got the proposal it was only me and Fiebig that was in the band, so the first thing we had to do was to find some members to make us able to perform live, hence Saphanoz & Yxmarder. The first gig ever was during this tour in a really small bar far away in a very rural area. It was a rather nice gig, and the following drinking afterwards to celebrate our first gig was extreme. Along with the sound engineers, CRYSTALIUM and NEHEMAH we trashed the location. All in all a very pleasant evening.

12) You were on tour with Eminenz, how did you like them? Do you stay in contact with them?

The crew of Eminenz was really ok to tour with. We have met the singer alot of times before while playing in Annaberg, so we kind of knew him from before. We still have some contact with them and we plan on going on tour again with them in November this autumn for a few gigs. At this point of time I have no dates or venues though, so time will tell where we'll be playing.

13) One station of your tour was Salzburg where we had already talked together, how did you liked this gig?

That particular gig was not really I gig that will be remembered as one of our best. The sound was terrible on stage and we heard nothing of what we did. At some parts we even had to guess where in the song we where. In order to make a decent gig a good sound on stage is absolutely necessary. After a while of not hearing you lose some of the will to perform unfortunately and especially when the one responsible who calls himself sound-engineer seem to don’t care att all or jus don’t understand that something is terrible with his way of working. Anyhow I hope that Austria will be on the list of venues this fall so we can deliver a gig the way it is meant to be given.

It wasn’t the first Blodsrit gig in Austria, will you return again?

As mentioned above we will return as soon as we are given the opportunity. Austria is amongst one of the countries from which we receive the strongest support so going back would be an honour!

14) How do you like the landscape of Austria? Are there any similarities to the Swedish’ territory or is it completely different?

What I like about Austria is the enormous and majestic mountains. Here in the south of Sweden where we live we don´t see or experience this, so the similarities are very few from what we are used to. unfortunately we are always in a car or inside a venue when we are touring so we never actually have any time to spend on experiencing nature from a closer distance than the road. We’re merele observing countries through a windshield of a vehicle which for certain reasons is not much of an adventure.

15) Do you like the nature? Do you go hiking in the forests of Sweden when you are at home or do you get in touch with the nature in any other way?

I have grown up spending a lot of time in the nature and the near surroundings. We live in a very small town on the east coast of Sweden and the nature lies very close to where we live. it takes approximately 10 minutes to walk before you reach the forestlines of this place. Also my family owns a huge part of nature 25 kilometres from my home with deep trollish forests and a lake 30 and that is where I have spent most of my days during this earthly life. There is nothing as peaceful as the silence of the nature at night far away from all that can be called civilization and humanity.

16) It seems like there are many patriots in Sweden... are you a patriot too?

If by patriot you mean a person that loves his country and holds the banner of the nation with pride I would say that I am divided in the issue. I would gladly die defending what is mine and those that means something to me. On the other hand I would never ever, not in a million years go in the frontline of a war defending some fat prick in a suit that calls himself leader over a country to which I happen to be residing. I am proud of my heritage, but Sweden of today as a country has failed in too many ways to be a country taking pride in other than for it's beauty naturewise and historically. We exist in the ruins that once were something. Anyhow, this is a massive question that for sure would need a far longer answer and a complete dialogue in order to get full understanding into what we believe and stand for in this matter.

17) Do you know Black-Metal-Bands from Austria? How do you like them?

Hmmm, I rarely don’t care about bands origins, but I don know that Belphegor is from Austria. After the gig we slept at the place where their rehearsalplace was. Also I know the usual more known bands like Pungent Stench (not black metal though that I was a huge fan of 15 years or more ago. Also I think that Abigor & Summonig must be two of the most internationally known bands that has spawned from your country if I am not totally mistaken.

18) A question about the cover-artwork of your new album "Hinterland": It looks very attractiv almost a little bit confusing...it shows some bird-like shapes and so on... what should it means?

We sent the CD and the titles to Lorenzo Mariani, and the artwork is his vision, or rather a small glimpse of the world that we present as the Hinterland, the land in the far beyond that stretches out in the horizon but yet is unreachable.

19) My last question: What are your further plans with Blodsrit? Are you already working on new matereal?

The nearest future will bring re-releases of our complete back-catalogue in digipak format. All different than the earlier releases. The "Supreme Misanthropy" album has been completely re-recorded. The "Ocularis Infernum" will be released and have the never printed promo "Secrets Unveiled" as bonustrack and finally "Helveteshymner" will be released with three completely new tracks. Also we are currently working on material for an upcoming dvd that hopefully will be given birth by the end of the year, and of course we are always creating new material so we hope to enter a studio again next year for a new fullenght album.

The first thing I'd like to thank Bloodred Horrizons Records, the CD "Ascension" from the Austrian band Sanguis. Unfortunately, it took a while until I could devote myself to this work because I had a lot on my other jobs ... but now comes the promised review of "Ascension"!

About the band is also to say:
It was founded in 1999 in Austria. The first release, an EP appeared a year later, including "Mortal Art Of Blood".
In the years that were recorded more albums, "Chaos Gate Guardians," "Infernum Infinitum" and "Ascension", which I will describe here yes!


But now more the musical content on this disc!
"Ascension" starts with an intro that sounds like an incantation of the next disaster! In the background of whispering voices, are pounding sounds heard (probably from a marching horde), these tampers are getting louder, and then starts the first "real" song ...
In this song, "I Saw The Fall of Idols", you realize already, to which sound art dark it is "Ascension". Obviously very musically to bands like Dark Funeral-oriented (also vocals), the band presents us with this work of musical art apparently bludgeoned variety of black metal!
What disturbed me general information about this kind of music ever, that the melodies always covered by the brute's Drums is to be such that most of the music is thereby damage ... of course, is what Geknüppel even more about building an Apocalyptic Mood but too bad about the melody, it is still ...
Anyway, as I was saying is that this is in "Ascension" to happiness is not the case!
order to qualify to the second track, for example, back: you hear the melody is still very nice out, although the drummer quite gets going. However, there is in this song very quiet parts. The song is about 7minütige, marked by rapid Drums, but also from quieter places, where the speed decreases a little ...

About the style of this work should be with the description of this song already said enough ... the next few songs are similar in containing rather unfortunately, but who on Geknüppel is, should the account is nothing!
The style reminds me, as I said much of Dark Funeral, and other bands of this work are unlikely to have influenced the guitarist ... "Azazel" is also a member of the Styrian troops "Asmodeus", which reminds me stylistically very well at Sanguis. to

Like Geknüppel expect, it is missing a bit of variety, But something very evocative of this work has to definitely be!
So fans of melody: Steer clear, friends of the Knüppelei: Just tune in for sure!
